The Problem

Survivors tell us every day that it’s way too hard to navigate post-assault care options. Most stop trying before getting the support they were looking for.

They tell us this because it’s true.

Complex Bureaucratic Systems

Complex Bureaucratic Systems

The health, justice, and school systems are notoriously confusing, even in the best of circumstances. Oftentimes, survivors are navigating all three at the same time.

The Brain In Trauma

The Brain In Trauma

Trauma can physiologically impact how a person processes information, remembers things, and makes decisions.

When a person can’t access the care they need after an unwanted sexual encounter, they are at a higher risk of issues like:

  • Performance problems at work or school
  • Certain health conditions such as high blood pressure, obesity, addiction, insomnia, depression, anxiety, or eating disorders.
  • Relationship issues with loved ones
  • Revictimization
  • Intimacy challenges
